The renowned Blaylock gardens boast many varieties of plants, flowers, trees, beautiful rock walls, waterfalls, ponds and pathways, natural flora and fauna that lend to the beauty and history of the waterfront estate. Blaylock is one of Western Canada’s premiere wedding destinations offering not only the finest hospitality but some of the most incredible gardens and estate grounds in British Columbia. Our team player will share our vision and help maintain the estate appearance to high standards that provide the priceless backdrop for our weddings and weekday guests.
We are also looking for additional housekeeping staff for the incredible mansion!

Michelle brings with her a wealth of hospitality and business experience as a highly skilled chef and previous business owner. Mark brings with him not only extensive business experience, but also a very capable and varied mechanical and hospitality background.
Michelle and Mark have jumped into the business with all hands on deck, and it’s evident in everything they do. A RARE and UNIQUE opportunity to work and live in the most SPECTACULAR MANSION between Calgary and Vancouver, The Blaylock Mansion. Dan and Louis have retired after almost two decades and we are looking for new long term custodians.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious mature couple to manage and live in a unique historic Estate Inn environment. This position offers the opportunity to work flexible hours and meet people from all over the world. The Estate is currently open 6 months of the year but depending on the selected custodians desire to expand this season it could be extended. We are booked most weekends of the summer for weddings with B&B business filling the weekdays. Compensation is negotiable at about $8,000 per month less living costs.
Applicants should be familiar with or quickly learn the Nelson area and be able to offer accurate concierge service. Other qualifications include an enthusiastic welcoming attitude, maintain facility bookings, equipment and supplies, respond to inquiries, facilitate wedding planning and bookings, manage house staffing needs and performance, administrative tasks and answer questions regarding the history on the mansion, grounds and surrounding area.
Individuals with previous B&B, front desk, and/or concierge experience would be an asset.
