Weddings at Blaylock’s Mansion

Since the nature of this ceremony changes the direction of the participant's lives in such a positive and loving way, marriage is probably one of the most important traditions in people's lives. Marriage is an unforgettable experience that will be shared with loved ones for the rest of our lives.

Probably one of the most memorable aspects of a wedding ceremony is the setting where the nuptials were held. One of the most spectacular settings for weddings in Western Canada would be historical Blaylock's Mansion. From the breathtaking viewscape at Blaylock's, guests can enjoy the magnificent gardens where colors are in constant change throughout the season. Blaylock's is also an arboretum, with one of the finest collections of mature Canadian trees in the country.

With many charming and romantic settings for the wedding we leave it up to the bride and groom to pick the location that suits them the best. A night in the Bridal Suite is a wonderful experience for the beginning of a new life together. The luxuriously carpeted suite is larger that many peoples home with a picturesque view of the Kootenay Lake, a fireplace at the end of the bed, a large sitting room and bathroom and a large screen TV. With all the enjoyable aspects of Blaylock's Mansion it would be hard to find a better location for a memorable wedding.

Start off a new chapter in a life with a wedding at Blaylock’s Mansion. It will be a memorable experience of a very important occasion. It is hard to find a more romantic setting for a wedding. At Blaylock’s we have several different options to choose from:

Rates and Services

1) Just Photographs: After a wedding at a church in Nelson there is no nicer site for wedding photographs than the grounds at the Blaylock Mansion. Bring your wedding party, family and chosen photographer to do the official wedding photos. The charge for the sitting is $350.

2) Wedding and Photographs: The wedding ceremony takes place on the grounds of the Blaylock Mansion. After the wedding ceremony the wedding party, family and chosen photographer have the official wedding photographs done on the grounds. The ceremony and photos usually take 4 - 5 hours and the rates start at $850.

3) Wedding, Photographs and Wine & Cheese: After the ceremony the wedding party and family have the photographs taken while the guests gather in the garden for a celebration with wine and cheese. The reception would then take place at another location. This choice would last approx 5-6 hours and starts at $1195.

4) Rental of the Mansion & Grounds: This option is the most commonly used for weddings. The 7 bedrooms are usually used for the accommodation for close family and friends. A rehearsal dinner or wine and cheese get together is quite often done on Friday night. The bride and maybe some friends stay in the Bridal Suite on her last night as a single person. The wedding and reception is usually held Saturday afternoon. The Bride and Groom spend their first night together in the Bridal Suite with a send off on Sunday morning. The cost for this option starts at $2475/night with a minimum of two nights required.
